Our surgical specialists perform lumpectomy instead of mastectomy whenever possible. The tissue removed in this breast-preservation surgery is generally quite limited when compared to mastectomy. All in all, less than 10% of our patients actually require complete mastectomy.

If surgery is required, our surgical specialists can perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy, an advanced alternative to traditional open surgery. Because the laparoscopic approach is minimally invasive, it requires a shorter hospital stay, produces less pain and scarring and offers a greatly reduced recovery period than traditional open surgery. In some cases, however, the traditional approach is more appropriate and utilized when it is in the patient’s best interests to do so.
