Surgical Specialist

Michael Harkabus, MD, FACS

"Medicine has always fascinated me. The challenges that come from helping people when they are ill make it a very rewarding career. The specialty of surgery is especially rewarding because I have the opportunity to immediately fix life-threatening problems. I have had a passion for surgery since I was a medical student, and 20 years later I am still fascinated with surgery. I am honored and privileged to have people place their trust in me as their surgeon, and because of this, I treat every patient with the respect and compassion they deserve."

"Even though I’ve been a practicing surgeon for years, I still stay current through continuing education so that I can provide the safest possible care to my patients. Over the years, I learned how important it is to spend a little extra time with each patient and listen to his or her concerns. I take the time to sit down to talk with them and make sure I answer all of their questions. After all, that’s the type of care I would want if I were in my patients’ shoes."
